Managed Cloud Solutions

We provide managed cloud solutions powered by the Microsoft Office 365 and Azure platforms. So what does this mean? Cloud Solutions designed for business use a combination of hosted applications and cloud hosted infrastructure. These are known as Software As A Service (SAAS) and Infrastructure As A Service (IAAS). Office 365 is a SAAS service, Azure is a IAAS service. Still confused? See below for more detail on these two major services categories.

The solutions are designed specifically for your business and may be totally cloud based or a combination of cloud and on premises services (hybrid cloud). The Azure platform alone currently offers over 600 different services, a bewildering choice to those not familiar with the technology.

Most solutions will use only a small subset of what is available. Many will use a combination of Office 365 and Azure services.

Microsoft Azure

Microsoft Azure

What is Microsoft Azure? Azure is an on demand data centre. Azure currently offers over 600+ services that previously would only have been available to companies with very large private data centres and IT staff to manage the centres. You can consume as many services as you need and be billed for the services on a consumption basis. So what sort of services are we talking about?

Services that form part of a cloud solution that we design and implement for your business might include

  • Cloud backup of files and folders or complete computers
  • Directory services to control authentication and access to resources
  • Virtual private servers, typically Remote Desktop Services (RDS) servers that were formerly known as terminal servers
  • Database service
